SAVE THE DATE: Wilderness Act 60th Anniversary Celebration this September 13-15!

The Wilderness Act turns 60 this year, and to celebrate, Wilderness Watch is organizing a grassroots gathering of Wilderness advocates on September 13-15 at the Wilderness Gateway Campground along the banks of the Lochsa River at the doorstep of the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness in Idaho.

The campout will be an important opportunity to celebrate the idea and ideals of Wilderness on the 60th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act. We’ll also explore some of the current challenges facing Wilderness, opportunities for strengthening wilderness policy and stewardship, and how people can become more engaged and stronger Wilderness activists.

The three-day educational event is open to the public, and will feature inspirational speakers, group discussions, live music, food, and more. A special thank you to the Selway Bitterroot Frank Church Foundation for their generous support of this grassroots Wilderness gathering!

We hope to see you September 13-15 to celebrate the Wilderness Act’s 60th Anniversary! Circle your calendars, and stay tuned for more details!
